Must-see Cities in 2016

As we start the new year, we start over again. We resolve to become a better version of ourselves, and traveling the world, learning new cultures, and digesting local insight is a perfect way to do just that. Become enriched this year with the resolution to travel!

Here are our picks for the must-see cities in 2016:

Dublin, Ireland

City livin’ with a quite a bit of natural beauty. Dublin is home to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College, in addition to many great local pubs, and just a short drive to visit Giant’s Causeway, Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry and the Lakes of Killarney, Dingle Peninsula, and even kiss the famous Blarney Stone.

Munich, Germany

Whether you’re a beer lover (Oktoberfest), a car fanatic (BMW World), a history buff (Glockenspiel), or a princess-in-training (Neuschwanstein Castle), Munich offers an abundance of activities that will please just about everyone. Plus, there are palaces galore: Nymphenburg Palaces & Park, Linderhof Castle, Munich Residenz to name a few.

Vienna, Austria

A music-lovers paradise! The “City of Music” has not only been home to many famous composers, but landmarks like Schönbrunn Palace, Heldenplatz, Hofburg Palace, the National Theater, the State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, renowned museums, and the Strauss Monument.

Geneva, Switzerland

Switzerland provides stunning scenery and the breathtaking Lake Geneva, as well as the world’s tallest fountain, Jet d’Eau. Spend a day visiting St. Peter’s cathedral and wandering around the cobblestone streets of Old Town. Plus, just a short drive from Geneva is the highest peak in the Alps and Western Europe, Mont Blanc.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is the perfect starting or ending point for the most epic summer road trip! Start here, drive through the unforgettable landscapes to Grand Canyon National Park, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, Moab, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Zion National Park. Or let Globus do the driving for you…

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Adventure awaits! Panoramic views, tasty food and lively beaches are just a few reasons to visit Rio. It’s a perfect destination for everyone – those who like food, nature, history, beaches and adventure! Plus, you can take a cog-wheel train through Tijuca Forest to the top of Corcovado Mountain (one of the new Seven Modern Wonders of the World) to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Known as “Paris of South America”, Buenos Aires has a European-influenced culture. The cosmopolitan city will show you how to have a good time with Tango shows, live music and great food. Some must-see places along the way are The Colon Theatre, Avenida de Mayo, Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada (shown above), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Cabildo. Plus, if you have the chance, see what the gauchos lifestyle is like on a traditional ranch, or estancia.

Keep your resolution this year and travel the world, while enriching your life. Remember, it’s the only thing you can buy that makes you richer! Let Globus help!
