Peru: Land of hidden treasures.

Peru is a country of contrasts with many unique sights, untamed adventures and colorful cultures. This South American gem delivers a dynamic and amazing range of experiences against a backdrop of breathtaking scenery.

Begin your journey in the sophisticated capital city of Lima. The "City of Kings" rises up along a sprawling coastline of steep cliffs. Lima has everything from stately museums to lively neighborhoods and markets; world-class cuisine, vibrant nightlife to inspiring architecture.

Out of the city, Peru’s incredible landscapes host a range of exciting adventure activities.  Trek in the Andes, perhaps along the Inca Trail to the Historical Sanctuary of incomparable Machu Picchu, ranked amongst the best treks and sights in the world.  Try sandboarding in the giant sand dunes or surfing the extraordinary coastal beaches. Buggy riding, rafting, kayaking, paragliding, bungee – Peru has it all and more.

Peru’s natural and cultural treasures will also astound you; there is so much of significance throughout the country. Take a look at four of our remarkable destinations:

Discover the culture and history of the Incas at the Sacred Valley and the Inca capital of Cusco along with ancient Machu Picchu. Here you’ll find a region steeped in history, with archaeological sites and mystery around every corner.

Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, is home to the Uros people who live on 63 islands made entirely of reeds. The "lake people" also build their homes and boats out of reeds and still fish and hunt in a traditional manner.

The "White City" of Arequipa was founded in 1540 by Spanish conquistadores. The historic city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing this prime example of a Colonial settlement successfully integrating indigenous and Spanish influences. The characteristic color of the buildings, constructed of white stone from the surrounding volcanoes, glow brightly in both sun light and the city’s night lights. Snow-capped volcanoes, Misti, Chachani and Pichu Picchu, create a stunning natural setting for Arequipa. Impressive Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, is found nearby, one of Peru’s most popular natural attractions.

Tambopata Natural Reserve is amongst the most wildlife-rich conservation areas on the planet and a refuge for endangered species including the South American maned wolf and marsh deer. Enjoy guided experiences in this phenomenal park, home to 632 bird species, 1,200 butterfly species, 169 mammal species and 205 types of fish.

These and many other destinations around Peru offer rewarding and enriching experiences not to be missed by the inquisitive traveler.

So come and explore Peru - be enthralled by all this land of hidden treasures has to offer.
